First, you need something to protect your floor so that you don't make scratches all over it. The other thing that you will need to protect are your walls, obviously you're not going to shoot real pucks in your house because you would make holes and leave black marks everywhere. Another option are the squishy pucks, these are a bit better because they simulate a lot more the feel of a real hockey puck when stickhandling and shooting.
