Hockey Shooting Strategy

Hockey Tips
Improves

In this article, we are going to talk about our shooting strategy and how this affects your off-ice training. We believe its great that you have a wide range of shots types and you can place them consistently anywhere, but in our opinion you should master a couple of shots that you can depend on.

This will give you an area of comfort and will give you more confidence. In order to practice this, you should practice specific areas on the goalie so bottom left, top left, bottom right and top right. When you can consistently hit one of these areas, you can move to the next one. Once you get every spot consistently, this gives you much more confidence going forward, as you can really pick your spots. Naturally, some shots will be easier to master, so make sure to use them in game situations.

I am showcasing everything at home, so basically what I’m using is the shooting pad, shooting tarp and pucks. That’s all one needs! One of the best things here is you can really challenge yourself, try to hit 10 in a row, 15, 20. This will drastically improve your shot, so make sure to practice.
