Essential Off-Ice Hockey Training Aids – Flooring Surfaces
A faux ice surface is the No. 1 key to off-ice training because you can practice both stickhandling and shooting-two things that are not only easy to practice off-ice but make a real difference in your game.
The slick surface of a Shooting Pad or training tiles is far superior to the friction of concrete or plywood when it comes to simulating real on-ice stick and puck action. Plus, these durable, weatherproof surfaces save you money by protecting your stick from wear and tear. A shooting surface is an important investment, so how do you know which one is right for you? It's mostly a matter of time and space. And, fortunately, you can mix and match shooting surfaces with other training tools, ensuring that nothing you invest in will be wasted.
Shooting Pads
Standard shooting pads are easy to lean against a garage wall, slide under a bed or tuck behind the sofa. They're plenty strong and durable, and yet still easy to pick up and move. The big question here is how big?
