Welcome to the Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice Training Center Series, where we feature hockey facilities across the globe that use the Industry’s Most Complete Synthetic Ice for Hockey Players. This series is specifically designed to showcase the way Extreme Glide set-ups are being used for training all levels of players and to highlight the superior performance of this surface as it relates directly to translatable skating mechanics & skill development.
At HockeyShot, we’re passionate about offering the right surface for your intended skills practice. While we offer 3 types* of Synthetic Ice, we also offer 2 non-skateable sport tiles suited for practicing the best sport in the world!
The MY Projects section on our website was created to provide a visual exhibit of both commercial and residential training spaces that have been completed with at least ONE model of HockeyShot flooring and in most instances, a multitude of other HockeyShot training products.
But it doesn’t stop there! The MY Projects Division at HockeyShot also exists as a team of multiple personnel readily available to communicate via phone, video or email, in order to facilitate consultation in regard to our inline skus, customization of 3rd party product and lastly, piece of mind as it relates to purchase and delivery of your order.

From the ice up, the MY Projects staff have assisted on over 55+ commercial training facilities and 1000+ residential builds outs.
For this feature, we present a build out video from @phtnation’s Instagram account. It should be noted that this is the 2nd location for PHT Nation, only two years after opening their first facility! To say they’ve seen steady growth is a huge understatement.
Owner & Founder- Ryan Jaros and Operations Manager & Head of Off-Ice- Matt Kadolph have been huge supporters of HockeyShot since they launched their original hockey training facility in Shelby Township, MI (see below).
The OG location, built out in a brand new warehouse garage (2019), incorporates a 22’ x 32’ skills pad of Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice (4x4-3/8”), 4 Crowd Goes Wild Tarps, some Edge Rebounding Foam along the perimeter border and of course, numerous training devices used on a daily basis, like the 4-Way Elite Passer and the Rush Defender. The Shelby location is still a hive of activity with its numerous free weights, racks and good sized turf areas for both private and team sessions.
Adding ice to an arena?!
Fast forward to 2021 and the PHT Nation crew signs a multi year lease for the large mezzanine above Big Boy Arena (Fraser, MI). 4 ice rinks, 1 roller rink and now over 2000 sqft of synthetic ice all under the same roof.
High ceilings, ample space and right up the stairs from all the on-ice activity. A hockey player’s dream training venue!
