"Overpriced it feels but a good hockey trainer and great workout trainer(can feel the burn in the legs after using). Kid enjoys it a lot and excited to use it for stick handling and passing practice with the dryland tiles. Easy to put together but was expecting a slippery surface right out of the box. Definitely noticeable once applying the Hockey Shot Extreme Glide Polisher on the slider which made the slider a lot more slippery. Eventually will have to reapply the polisher but still did the job even without spraying the polisher on it. If you’re thinking about getting this definitely add the HS polisher with this (or other kinds of surface polisher) to make the surface more slippery while using."

Great workout but a few things to note

"This is a fun training tool and can help build strength in your skating stride. Assembly was easy and the ability to adjust the length is helpful. It's quite challenging making it all the way across the 8ft span with the provided booties and surface of the board. I did spend the extra $$$ on the glide spray. However, if you have ANY dust or pet hair floating around, you will have to constantly apply. A day later and the spray actually seems to make the surface worse than prior to application. Also, the standard booties are an area that can be improved upon. But, this is still a great way to focus on technique and develop power in your stride."

How do I stabilize this Slide Board?

"I purchased the Slide Board Pro and have used it for a few weeks. I used the instructional video on assembly. A week into using it, the slide board started to slide across the floor. Have used the slide wax, but it still slides along the floor. Very frustrating. Does HockeyShot sell something I can put underneath the Slide Board to stabilize it when I am exercising?"

Great product

"Great to keep skating muscles in shape during lockdown. IMO, the lubricating spray is a must to glide really well. I find I have to apply the spray before each use and I get about 10 sessions out of a can. I suggest petting your sideboard on carpet - it is two sided and will last twice as long if its not dragged across a floor (especially concrete). Construction is really solid - there are rubber mats under each bumper which provide a subtle lift as you get to the end of your glide - with practice, this helps you avoid slamming into the bumper which can be hard not he knees. The rubber mats are really heavy to which gives a solid feel as you land and push-off. I bought the 10 foot but I think I could have gone for the 8 foot - I'm 5'10" and mine is set at about 7-1/2 feet and its perfect for me. Its not much more to get the 10 foot so if you have the space, why not, especially if you are tall. The only disappointment is that the top of my booties started to fray almost immediately. It hasn't spread though and they are only $13 to replace so, for me, its not a big deal."

"As a strength coach, I've tried a handful of slide boards with clients from peewee to pro - the HS one is BY FAR the best. Glide is great, but the ability to change sizes depending on the focus (power vs conditioning) and for different aged athletes is a game changer."
