Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice: GOALIE Pad
Welcome to the Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice Home Hockey Series, where we feature residential builds across the globe that use the Industry’s Most Complete Synthetic Ice for Hockey Players. This series is specifically designed to showcase the way Extreme Glide set-ups are being used for training at home whether in the garage, basement, backyard or driveway! No space is too big or too small
At HockeyShot, we’re passionate about offering the right surface for your intended skills practice. While we offer 3 types of Synthetic Ice, we also offer 2 non-skateable Hockey Tiles suited for practicing the best sport in the world!
The MY Projects section on our website was created to provide a visual exhibit of both commercial and residential training spaces that have been completed with at least ONE model of HockeyShot flooring and in most instances, a multitude of other HockeyShot training products.
But it doesn’t stop there! The MY Projects Division at HockeyShot also exists as a team of multiple personnel readily available to communicate via phone, video or email, in order to facilitate consultation in regard to our inline skus, customization of 3rd party product and lastly, piece of mind as it relates to purchase and delivery of your order.
Go ahead and snipe through the project below!
From the ice up, the MY Projects staff have assisted on over 55+ commercial training facilities and 1000+ residential builds outs with Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice.
Goalies need reps too! And we’re not just talking about getting shelled with biscuits- we’re referring to working on their edges, pushes, upper and lower body positioning, head tracking, etc. When it comes to getting dialed in with the full gear on, individual training on a synthetic ice pad can be super accessible.
A lot of time, we get asked: “what’s the perfect size for a goalie to focus on his crease work and movement patterns?” There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, but if we want to consider the dimensions of crease geometry, we’d be looking at 8’ wide by 6’ tall (NHL dims) or 12’ wide by 6’ tall (Half Moon).
Take into consideration the above sequence of 3 videos. U16 goalie, full gear, elite level, moving freely from post to post with no limitations and sliding side to side with range, while cutting down translatable angles.
Here are the details of his set-up:
- 12’ W x 8’H with Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice (4’x4’-3/8”)
- Decking Platform (2x4 studs, ¾” plywood top)
- Indestructible Goal with 2D Backstop
- Notice the railroad tie supporting back of net 😊
When it comes to the performance of Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice for goalies, we don’t mean to brag (ok maybe we do!) but we have been the training surface of choice for over 15+ commercial training spaces specifically for goalies (Switzerland, Canada, USA, Japan). The common denominator with all of these goalie minds who chose us? The edge feel on Extreme Glide is second to none for an “artificial” ice. It means their goalies have full confidence in performing hard, aggressive, game situation pushes. No hesitancy that skates will slip out.
Join the best goalie coaches in the biz and bring the best synthetic ice for goalies into your HOME!
Looking for a crease? We stock CREASE panels in our ½” thick EG panels.
